A new construction project has been launched after the new Würth Logistics Center in Landquart erected in 2002 and the first extension in 2008. The groundbreaking ceremony on 5 February marked the beginning of the second extension.
Both the high capacity utilization of the existing warehouse and the growth of the Würth Group were decisive for the decision made by Würth International to add on to the Logistics Center in Landquart. The building permit was issued in September 2015, construction work will start in February 2016 and take up about two years. The groundbreaking ceremony on 5 February marked the beginning of construction work.
The newest extension will be brought into service in two steps: the incoming goods area in the summer of 2017 and the new container warehouse in the fall of 2017.
A completely new incoming goods section with a surface area of roughly 2,100m2 will be added to the already existing building along with a fully automated container warehouse with 38,500 container spaces. Capital expenditure amounts to about 18 million Swiss francs.
After completion of the project the extended Würth Logistics Center will cover a total surface area of 6,600 m2 and provide enough space for 24,000 pallets and roughly 46,000 containers.
